Lecture at the Department of Architecture, University of Thessaly "The Sky: The Anthropogenic and Natural Environment"

On Wednesday April 1st, I was honored to give a Lecture at the Department of Architecture of University of Thessaly, in my hometown, Volos, Greece.

Taking advantage of my short visit back to Greece, I was kindly invited by the exquisite colleague and friend Prof. Iris Lykourioti, within the framework of her course Introduction to Architecture II.

The lecture was entitled “The Sky: Anthropogenic and natural environment” and addressed the dynamic balance between urban growth and nature through the years and focused on the threshold to the sky, namely the night sky.

This vantage point provided a creative, different field of knowledge to the students and emphasized the necessity to open up and use all other disciplines and viewpoints as alternative inspiration for improving both our architecture and our collective, critical being.

I enjoyed a full class throughout the lecture, with a multitude of questions and a very active audience on a peculiar topic connection: Architecture - Urbanism and Astrophotography!
