Special Session at the 59th ISOCARP / 5th UEF World Planning Congress in Toronto, Canada.

That’s a wrap! The 59th ISOCARP / 5th UEF World Congress is now history and I am proud of being part of it.

This has been my 4th presence at a Global Congress of ISOCARP, following Jakarta, Doha and Brussels. It has been the first time though to visit Toronto and Canada.

I was honored to organize and present - together with my friend and colleague Marco Sosa, Associate Professor of Interior Design at Zayed University - a Special Session entitled “Photographing Extremes; The role of Public Space and Architectural Photography on documenting and understanding contextual (climatic) extremes and resilient communities”. The session explored Climate Change and other contextual “extremes” under the vantage point of architectural/urban photography and raised questions on how should scholars and researchers document related changes.

Furthermore, I was able to secure a spot of an ISOCARP Representative at the forthcoming COP28 in Dubai UAE, thus gaining direct access to one of the major Sustainability events globally.
